Senior Name Painting

Hey there, alums (ya like that?) -

For those of you interested in such things (and I'm sure there's many...yeah?), it is time to leave your mark. We have clearance for alums of the classes of '20 and '21 to come back and paint their names in the auditorium. How about a bit of the normal world?

I'll be onsite at IBWHS mornings between 900am and 1200pm and will be able to provide access to limited numbers (2-4 max) of alums to paint their names. Please email or text me times you'd like to come in, and I can likely make it happen.

Guidelines are these: 1) No painting over someone else's name; 2) I have a limited selection of paint onsite...think about bringing your own; 3) Space guidelines - a/took classes = 1'x1' box; b/only shows = 2'x2' box; full engagement = 3'x3' box; 4) Safety first...no unsafe painting practices/spaces; 5) Nothing visible from the auditorium house; 6) Take your time and do it well...we have to look at this every day!

A Statement Of Our Principles

In This Time... Words matter. Anyone who knows me, and has had to endure a long-winded in-person or multi-character typewritten spiel on anything from breakfast that morning, to the minutiae of a Marvel movie, to the justification for an assignment (see below this post), knows that words matter to me greatly, and that it can take me a long time to find the right ones...especially on something as big as the things we are experiencing right now. And yet...they're failing me in my desire to find what feels like the 'right thing' to say about this moment where the myth of equal rights and protections in our country have been laid bare in a way that has resonated bigger and more intensely than it has in a very long time. Ultimately I'm a small person in a small corner of the country's whitest major city. I have been, and remain, phenomenally privileged in my life in every way.
