A Couple of Summer Theatre Workshop Options...

Hi all! Every once in a while, local groups reach out with options for our young artists to continue their theatre work outside the WHS environment.  Even this year, with all of its limitations, there are options for your summer time...see below for a couple of options I've gotten recently: Bridgetown Conservatory of Musical Theatre  www.bridgetownconservatory.org DISCOVER BERRIDGE CONNECT **Posting here is not an endorsement of any particular program...do your research to insure the program fits your needs!**

It's Troscars Time!

For those of you who didn't already know, and for those who could use the reminder, it's time for that time honored Wilson tradition... The Troscar Awards! Given the current vogue of doing everything online through group meet apps - I mean seriously, everyone's doing it - I am proud to announce the very first Wilson High School Virtual Troscar Awards!   We'll be live from our homes this Wednesday, May 27th at 700pm on Google Meet: code WHSTroscars2020 We'll be thanking our current Board, announcing Letters and Thespians Inductions, taking the Thespian Induction Pledge, announcing members of the 20/21 Council, screening the Slideshow and Senior Video, and, of course, THE TROSCARS! Join us for this Wilson Tradition!  We can't wait to see you this Wednesday! j.

Troscar Video Recordings Now Open!

Hi All! With Troscars closing in on us SO soon (Wednesday!), I need folks to do recordings presenting the Troscars themselves! As many of you know, one of the most fun parts of the the entire Troscars experience is the presentations of the Troscars!  Historically, students have, in singles, doubles, and small groups, have put together speeches, sketches, dance numbers, and more to entertain and then, announce the voted-upon winners of the awards.  The only thing that's changing about that this year is the delivery method... Here's what we're looking for: 1) Email me (Miller...duh) at mjamie@pps.net with what category you'd like to present; first come, first served, until we run out of categories. 2) I'll email you back with the winners of your selected category...once you get that email from me you'll be sworn to secrecy (no spoilers!), and can get to work on your video submission. 3) You'll have 3 minutes worth of time...keep it tight! 4) This is

Hey there, theatre friends! Here is your weekly dose of free streaming options for live theatre performances...and some bonus content! FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE STRUGGLED TO GET/KEEP GOING ON THIS DISTANCE LEARNING THING, KEEP READING!

-Call this the Clean Slate Protocol (thanks Iron Man 3)...here's how to get back on track: 1) Ignore everything before this week. April was tough. If it maxed you out, you aren't the only one. This isn't how we're meant to do business. Forgive yourself for not being 'whatever' enough to just jump on the new thing and go. 2) Pick up from this week (Week 6 in the Classwork tab). Zero penalty...I MEAN THAT. Having you back is far more important. 3) Choose ONE assignment from the week (or the Culminating Assignment, if your class has one)...that's all you're responsible for each week. Again, YOU'RE ONLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ONE ASSIGNMENT EACH WEEK! 4) Do the assignment as efficiently as you can, and submit it through Classroom. If it's done by the due date, great; if not, finish it up and get it to me as soon as you can...I just want to see your work and respect your energies. -That's it. I know many folks have looked at that Classwork page

Company Meeting Notes: May 11th - Shut Up, Ashland 2019, Welcome Colleen!, Communication Resources, Wilson Arts Website

Hi all - Lots to talk about coming out of yesterday's Company Meeting.  Sorry for the cross-scheduling with the WHS Instagram Live Awards posting...the furlough canceling our Friday meeting last week threw me for a loop in scheduling.  We hae a date and time now...and oh, so much more to throw out there for ya!  (Take some time with these ones...this is the second post of 2) More key things going on right now: WELCOME COLLEEN!: As many of you already know, the move to distance learning totally messed up our student teacher Colleen Crabtree's onsite teaching experience.  Well, as with so many other things, we have had to get creative in solving the problem.  She is now guiding some of our class assignments via Google Classroom...we hope you can say hi! COMMUNICATING (SW)2 STUFF: Make sure you're checking the three primary sources we use to reach out!  With no onsite alternative, this is the only way we can get information out to folks about everything we've got
