Teen West 9 Intent Forms Due 2/18

Hi all!  Intent forms for this year's Teen West Project were due today as many of you know.   Well, that was before the ice showed us all what a first-world problem really looks like!   With significant areas without power, internet, or both, we've extended the date for folks to signal their intent to be involved with Teen West this year.  Please go to pwteenwest.blogspot.com for more information. Hope to have your names in the metaphorical hat by this Thursday for this exciting project! - j.

F4: The Found Footage Film Festival drops tomorrow!

Welcome to F4: The Found Footage Film Festival!  F4 is a collection of 'found footage' films produced both entirely by youth artists and completely socially distanced...no one was at the same place at the same time at any point in the process. A testament to both innovation and perseverance, we hope you enjoy these films...and maybe end up a little creeped out!  Each of the short films is introduced by its director, and we hope you enjoy the experience! The films will drop on Friday, 2/12 on the SouthWest StageWorks channel on YouTube, and at the link below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC0zUdXEyUo&list=PLkS_W_Vdlegxpg8aKhdP7KunfDNo8lL_t  If you like what you saw, and want to support SouthWest StageWorks as we look to build toward our eventual reopening in the Fall of 2021, please donate at:  https://pps.schoolpay. com/pay/for/IBWHS-SouthWest- StageWorks-Theatre-Compa/ ScrM8N3 Hope to see you then! - j.

Reminder...Teen West: Year 9 - Impact Meeting Tomorrow!

This is your friendly reminder that tomorrow afternoon at 330pm is our kickoff meeting for Teen West Project: Year 9 - Impact! Again, for those of you who don't know, the Teen West Project is SouthWest StageWorks' signature project.  We collaborate with local theatre company Playwrights West to debut brand new pieces of theatre each year, including pieces that have been nationally published and performed off-Broadway.  It's a powerful theatre experience, and for those of you who were involved with or saw last year's edition, You Cannot Undo This Action, you can speak directly to this powerful work. This year's edition will take our distance learning situation into account and use this unique situation to create a powerful set of tales based on our experiences in this void.  Impact will be a true collaboration between student artists to create high level work. Read more at our blog  Teen West Project  and join us for that kickoff meeting with teaching artist Matthew

Oregon Thespians...REGIONALS AND PLAYWRITING OPPORTUNITIES!

As most of you know, we are also members of Oregon Thespians, our statewide organization of theatre schools and a part of the International Thespians organization.  This means a fantastic number of opportunities to do your thing among your peers across the state! Two of our biggest opportunities of the year, at least for our community, are coming up soon: 1) The Regional Acting Competition.  Regionals registration starts this weekend for anyone who wants to be involved in presenting their acting work virtually to their peers and for adjudication.  There are a number of categories you can participate in, and everything is student-driven this year, so you can decide to enter on your own and carry it from there.  This is a great chance to have your work seen by folks that know the work!  Details are online at https://www.oregonthespians.org/regionals 2) The Playwriting Competition.  Oregon Thespians also offers the opportunity for writers from across the state to have pieces read and cri
