Reset and Restart

Good day, (SW)2 Community!

Now that we are roughly halfway through the summer break, it is high time to get the ball rolling for the upcoming season.  We are going to be reaching out to all y'all on a variety of topics, opportunities, news items, and ideas...and we want/need to hear from you as often as possible!  Your voice is crucial in this time, and will be affecting a wide variety of things including the upcoming season, trips/travel, class content, and many others.

In order to deliver as much info as possible, and to hopefully make that process more efficient, I'll be looking to streamline our delivery sources.  Here's where you can find the most up to date information:

-Remind: Get on Remind for notification delivery.  While this won't have in-depth information, it'll let you know when things are up.  (computer: remind.com/join/southw2 ; smartphone: rmd.at/southw2 ; text alerts: Text the message '@southw2' to the number 81010)

-This Blog/'southweststageworks.blogspot.com': Check this on the daily!  This will be where the big information and all the detail will be posted...it's the platform best suited for that kind of thing.

-The Website/'southweststageworks.com': This will be updated over the next month...but is primarily for parents or outside community members looking for general (SW)2 community info, not specifics

-Facebook (IBWHS feed, SouthWest StageWorks feed, and (SW)2 Student Announcements feed): Will post general parent-facing/alumni-facing announcements here, though phasing out the Student Announcements feed...let's be honest, very few students on FB anyway.

-Insta (@sw2official): This will be primarily for student-focused/student-originated announcements...similar to Remind, but not my go-to (silly requirement to be on a mobile device and attach a picture.  GenXer here...)

What am I going to be reaching out about?

-Senior Name Painting

-BootCamp

-Ashland

-TBoard Opportunities

-21/22 Season

-Classes

-TWP:Y9 - Impact Shirts and Posters

...and much more

Stay in touch...email is best: mjamie@pps.net

Much to do, but super excited!

An Outside Opportunity...

For those of you interested in paid film opportunities, here's a posting from a local casting firm for some upcoming projects (NOTE: This is a reach-out from a non-PPS firm, and one with whom I do not have a prior working relationship...do your own diligence and research before participating in any program or sharing information): (from Simon Max Hill Casting) 'We’re hoping that you can help spread the word about our auditions - if any of your students are interested, they can submit at www.smhcasting.com/now-casting or you can forward them the info below: CASTING KIDS FOR HBO PRODUCTION WHAT: We need kids aged 8 months - 18 years to audition for our shows WHY: We’re casting a tv show for HBO and a movie starring Alison Brie (Community, GLOW) HOW: Submission links for the HBO project can be found at www.smhcasting.com/now-casting PAY: Both projects are on SAG-AFTRA contracts, so wages and working conditions will be union.
