Thespian Honors!

Hi all!

Congratulations!  The following people have built up enough hours as a part of Wilson's Theatre program to qualify for induction into International Thespians!

If you'd like to be a part of Thespians, the high school honor society for theatre arts, please do the following:

1) Fill out the information below in the RSVP (which you received today in the email account I have on file for you...but check both your school and personal emails to be safe) and return to me by May 25th...I need this as a part of Thespians Induction and Registration
2) Log on to School Pay after May 27th to pay a $35 induction fee.  If you don't have the financial means to pay, please contact me...we won't let that be a barrier to being recognized
3) Please reach out to me with any questions!  mjamie@pps.net

  • Membership in the only international honor society for high school theatre arts students—a recognized demonstration of achievement and a valuable addition to college and employment applications.

  • A one-year (nine issues) subscription to Dramatics magazine.
  • Leadership opportunities at the troupe, chapter, and international levels.
  • Eligibility for scholarships through EdTA chapters and the home office.
  • Eligibility to apply for student grants and scholarships at the State level, and to the International Thespian Festival.
  • Eligibility to audition at the International Thespian Festival for admission to college theatre programs.
  • Eligibility to submit original plays to the Thespian Playworks program.
  • Eligibility to receive Thespian graduation and honor items (Cords for Graduation)
  • Free or reduced price admissions to local high school theaters.
*Seniors: If you want to wear the blue Thespian honor cord at graduation, you must be inducted into International Thespians, or be in the process of.

A Week of Restarting!

 Hey there, StageWorks...this is a week where things get real.  Almost like 'normal'. 1) Fall Film Fest auditions: This Tuesday and Wednesday, 10/26 and 10/27, will see a return to live auditions at IBWHS!  Information about the auditions and the film fest process are all online at ibwhsdramafilmfest.blogspot.com 2) Trick-and-Eat: Coming up this Sunday students from the (SW)2 company will go out into the community to trick or treat...for non-perishable food and hygiene product donations to support Neighborhood House and their work in our community.  We'll also be taking donations of small quantities at IBWHS if you'd like to support the work.  We're also looking for folks to go out into the neighborhood around IBWHS with us to canvas for food, and for folks to lend us wagons or carts to help transport the donations to vehicles.  Can you help?  Email Jamie Miller at mjamie@pps.net for more information...and thank you! 3)  Lakewood Theatre’s Annual ...

Community Cares Day: 8/28!

This Saturday is the IBWHS Community Cares Day, where volunteers come together to complete projects to support the IBWHS Campus in advance of the school year. This year we have the OK to have folks on campus to help get the Theatre spaces ready to go for the year! If you want to help get the Drama Room, Stage, Shop, and Costume rooms ready for this year's exciting season and classes, join us between 900am and 1200pm at IBWHS.
