A very happy birthday to an unarguably landmark African-American poet, playwright, and visionary. His unflinching looks at the Black experience over the 20th Century are powerful examples of the ability of Theatre to examine and reflect life, heightened.
Confront the dark parts of yourself, and work to banish them with illumination and forgiveness. Your willingness to wrestle with your demons will cause your angels to sing.
